Distribution Point download order

Seems to run in to this question quite often, so here we go.

This is the order which a client will try to download/connect to a distribution point

  • Local subnet
  • Local AD site
  • Randomly select one if there are more than one in AD Site
  • Randomly select any unprotected DP
